Volunteer Trail-Work Days
Saturday, July 25, 2026 WAS our ninth annual
Pierce Pond Trail-Work Day!
What a great Trail Work Day we had! Our volunteer workers were enthusiastic and the weather on Pierce Pond was perfect!
We had two projects scheduled, so we split into two groups.
Group one, lead by PPWT Coordinator Jerry Bley and PPWT Summer Intern Quinn Cunningham, spent the day clearing dead and downed trees from the future youth-wilderness-leadership program camping area on Lower Pierce Pond.
Group two, led by PPWT Stewardship Coordinator Rachel Cheatham-McFadden and PPWT Advisory Committee Member Steve Estes, installed new bog bridging on the Gale Trail, which parallels the Thoroughfare. Both projects were completed in record time.
